Edinburgh born actress Sarah MacRae has been an up and coming star in the theatre world since her London debut at 21 at the National Theatre followed by a number of performances at the Globe and with the Royal Shakespeare Company, but her recent TV debut in ITV's Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands heralded the start of what's sure to be a long and successful screen career for her.

MacRae, who trained at Glasgow's Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the RSAMD), gets to show off her acting chops in Beowulf as she plays Saray - a gentlewoman and warrior who's involved in a power struggle - making her way through intense fight scenes despite a broken ankle midway through filming. A powerful stage actress and one of the standout Beowulf stars with a stellar career ahead of her, MacRae is definitely one to watch.
